Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Protective Services Officer Unarmed at Springfield Regional Medical Center. The role focuses on internal and external safety, including patrols, escorts, and responding to emergencies to protect patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include enforcing hospital policies, monitoring CCTV, and coordinating with clinical teams and law enforcement. Must have a high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and receive required certifications within specified

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Vocational/Technical Degree is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification within 6 months of hire.
• RSFH/TBD licensing requirements within 6 months and TASER training within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Protect patients, visitors and employees by escorts and patrolling.
• Deters criminal activity through routine patrols of all hospital property.
• Enforces policies including parking, visitation, drug enforcement, and tobacco policy.
• Monitors CCTV for safety incidents and protective services involvement.
• Intervenes in confrontations as appropriate and documents all duties.
• Complete daily activity logs and incident reports.
