Job summary

Mercy Health in Fairfield, OH is seeking an unarmed Protective Services Officer to support safety for patients, visitors and staff. The role includes escorts, patrols, incident reporting, and enforcing hospital policies. Shift is afternoons to nights, with a 40-hour work week.

Requires basic security experience, a valid driver’s license and BLS within 6 months. Responsibilities include monitoring CCTV, responding to calls, maintaining logs, and coordinating with clinical teams and law

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Vocational/Technical Degree is preferred.
• 1-2 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• BLS Basic Life Support within 6 months of hire is required.
• RSFH licensure requirements and TASER Training within 60 days are required.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients, visitors, and staff; patrols grounds and mitigates safety hazards.
• Deters criminal activity through routine patrols of hospital property and parking areas.
• Enforces policies such as parking, visitation, drug enforcement, and tobacco/smoking rules.
• Monitors CCTV for escalating situations and coordinates protective services response.
• Intervenes in confrontations as appropriate and documents incidents and logs.
