Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Florida is seeking a Sonographer to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging across outpatient and inpatient settings, including abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, and small parts exams.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, assist in complex procedures, and contribute to research and QA initiatives. ARDMS eligibility and BLS are encouraged, with mentoring duties and schedule flexibility across Mayo locations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Sonography Program and/or ARDMS registered or registry eligible.
• One year of experience as a Sonographer preferred.
• Associate degree or above preferred.
• ARDMS registered or registry eligible in abdomen, obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN) and vascular technology (RVT).
• ARDMS registered in Abdomen, Obgyn, and RVT within 18 months of Mayo employment.
• Each certification should be achieved every 6 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously performs high quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging for outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Assists in complex invasive procedures and intraoperative cases with a team approach.
• Requires high level analytical ability to obtain appropriate images and required measurements, and communicate a preliminary clinical diagnosis to the physician.
• Identifies imaging orders for accuracy and tailors exams to patient needs.
• Maintains sterile technique and patient safety; documents procedures.
• Participates in research and QA; supports department accreditation and maintenance.
• Mentors and teaches students and new staff; supports residents and physicians.
• Supports staffing flexibility and on-call/holiday coverage across locations.
