Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Florida seeks an experienced Sonographer to perform high‑quality diagnostic ultrasound across outpatient and inpatient settings, including abdomen, vascular, OB/GYN, and small parts. You will participate in procedures, ensure accurate imaging, and support a culture of teamwork.

Responsibilities include mentoring staff, contributing to QA and research, and adapting to different locations and shifts, with potential on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Sonography Program and/or ARDMS registered or registry eligible.
• One year of experience as a Sonographer preferred.
• Associate degree or above preferred.
• ARDMS registered or registry eligible in abdomen, obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN) and vascular technology (RVT).
• ARDMS registered in Abdomen, Obgyn, and RVT within 18 months of Mayo employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously performs high quality, advanced diagnostic ultrasound imaging for outpatient and inpatient settings (abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, small parts).
• Assists in complex invasive procedures and intraoperative cases with a team approach.
• Interpretation support: obtain images, measurements, and communicate preliminary findings to physician.
• Identify imaging orders for accuracy and tailor exams to patient needs.
• Participate in research, QA, and department accreditation activities.
• Mentor and teach students and new staff; support residents and fellows.
• Staff at various locations and shifts, including on-call and holidays.
