Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Florida (Jacksonville) seeks a Sonographer to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging for outpatient and inpatient care. You will assist in complex procedures, integrate clinical data, and communicate preliminary findings to physicians.

The role requires ARDMS certification or registry eligibility, BLS, and a commitment to ongoing education. Experience is preferred, and a 60-hour work period with variable start times is typical.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Sonography Program and /or ARDMS registered or registry eligible.
• One year of experience as a Sonographer preferred.
• Associate degree or above preferred.
• ARDMS registered or registry eligible in the areas of abdomen, obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN) and vascular technology (RVT).
• ARDMS registered in Abdomen, Obgyn, and RVT within 18 months of Mayo employment.
• Each certification should be achieved every 6 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously performs high quality, advanced diagnostic ultrasound imaging for outpatient and inpatient settings (abdomen, vascular, small parts, OB/GYN).
• Assists in complex invasive procedures and intraoperative cases with a team approach.
• Interpretation of sonogram and communication of a preliminary clinical diagnosis to physician.
• Identify imaging orders for accuracy and tailor exam to patient needs.
• Maintain sterile technique and procedural documentation.
• Participate in research and innovation studies and adopt new technology.
