Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a Sonographer to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging across outpatient and inpatient settings, including abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, and small parts. You will assist in complex procedures and contribute to research while ensuring patient safety and exam accuracy.

The role requires ARDMS registration or eligibility, BLS, and a commitment to ongoing learning as Mayo Clinic expands imaging capabilities across locations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Sonography Program and /or ARDMS registered or registry eligible.
• One year of experience as a Sonographer preferred.
• Associate degree or above preferred
• ARDMS registered or registry eligible in Abdomen, OB/GYN, and RVT.
• ARDMS registered in Abdomen, Obgyn, and RVT within 18 months of Mayo employment.
• Each certification should be achieved every 6 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Perform high quality, advanced diagnostic ultrasound imaging for outpatient and inpatient settings, including abdominal, vascular, and OB/GYN exams.
• Assist in complex invasive procedures and intraoperative cases with a team-based approach.
• Obtain appropriate images and measurements, synthesizing data to communicate a preliminary clinical diagnosis to the physician.
• Identify imaging orders for accuracy and tailor exams using medical history, previous studies, and symptoms.
• Adhere to isolation precautions, sterile technique, and procedural documentation.
• Participate in QA, equipment maintenance, and department accreditation activities.
• Contribute to research and adoption of new imaging technologies and techniques.
• Mentor and teach students and staff; serve as a resource for residents, fellows, physicians and other healthcare personnel.
• Support staffing across multiple locations and flexible shift coverage including on-call and holidays.
