Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Sonographer to perform advanced diagnostic ultrasound imaging in outpatient and inpatient settings, including abdominal, obstetric/gynecologic, vascular, and small parts exams.

The role requires independent judgment, collaboration with a professional team, and mentoring staff and students. ARDMS certification and accredited program graduation preferred; BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Sonography Program and/or ARDMS registered or registry eligible.
• One year of experience as a Sonographer preferred.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• ARDMS registered in Abdomen, OB/GYN and RVT within 18 months of Mayo employment.
• Each certification should be renewed every 6 months.
• BLS required within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously performs high quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging for tertiary care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Assists in complex invasive procedures and intraoperative cases with a team approach.
• Uses analytical ability to obtain images and measurements and communicates a preliminary clinical diagnosis to physicians.
• Identifies imaging orders for accuracy and tailors exams to patient needs.
• Fosters teamwork, maintains QA, and participates in accreditation activities.
