Job summary

UC Santa Cruz seeks a Tutor Program Coordinator to lead the selection, hiring, training, and supervision of undergraduate tutors and peer success coaches across LSS. You will plan and facilitate tutor trainings, coordinate scheduling in TracCloud, and mentor staff to deliver equity-minded peer education. This role involves collaboration with EOP, DRC, STARS and campus partners.

With a 100% effort and 40 hours per week, you will drive program quality and student success at UCSC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of learning theories, affective issues, holistic academic issues, and socio-cultural / linguistic issues in applying academic support.
• Experience with collaborative learning or peer-based learning models in a college setting.
• Cultural competency with diverse staff, faculty, and student populations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and develop academic student staff.
• Experience in training and supervising tutoring staff.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience facilitating group presentations.

Responsibilities

• Delivers academic programs to students via LSS programs and supervises tutors (~60–80/year).
• Coordinates hiring, supervision and evaluation of tutors and Supplemental Instruction Leaders.
• Maintains TutorHub and guides scheduling efforts for tutoring services.
• Leads training opportunities for tutors grounded in equity-minded pedagogy.
• Collaborates with EOP, DRC, STARS and other student support programs.
• Measures impact and generates reports on tutoring program utilization.
