Job summary

University Corporation at Monterey Bay is seeking a GEAR UP Tutor Coordinator to oversee the academic tutoring program, including recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating tutors. The role involves building cross-site relationships with high schools and the college campus to identify and recruit qualified tutors.

Occasional support in the drop-in tutoring centers across Coastal and Salinas Valley sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field.
• 2 years of relevant experience working in peer education or student learning support programs.
• A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the academic tutorial program including recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating all tutors.
• Build relationships across high schools and college campus to identify and recruit tutors.
• Occasionally support activities in the drop-in tutoring centre at each school site in the Coastal and Salinas Valley.
• Coordinate tutor schedules with school site staff and maintain related records.
