Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Truck Service Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in leading marketing and operations of the Truck Service department. You will guide technicians through troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy‑duty trucks and trailers, ensuring travelers return to the road better than they came.

This role emphasizes team leadership, hiring, coaching, and ensuring safety and quality across operations, with opportunities for growth within TA.

Qualifications

• Leader who sets example and works alongside team.
• Eager to grow career within Truck Service.
• Supervisory experience in convenience store, truck service, travel center or related activity.
• Knowledge of Truck Service business preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the team to meet performance standards.
• Coach and performance-manage staff according to company policy.
• Recruit, hire, train and retain high-quality team members.
• Assist in guiding technicians through troubleshooting and repairs of heavy duty trucks and trailers.
• Conduct visual inspections to ensure availability of products and services.
• Help achieve financial objectives through effective management of people, product, service and facilities.
• Adhere to safety standards and vendor guidelines.
