Job summary

M&K Truck Centers is seeking a Service Writer to act as the primary liaison between customers and the service department for commercial trucks and fleets. The role involves managing repair orders, coordinating with technicians, and delivering timely repair recommendations to ensure exceptional customer experiences.

The ideal candidate has prior service-advisor experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to explain technical repair information clearly while handling multiple orders

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and schedule service, maintenance, and repair appointments for commercial trucks and fleet vehicles.
• Open, update, and close repair orders accurately and efficiently.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the repair process.
• Communicate vehicle status updates, estimated completion times, and repair recommendations.
• Coordinate with diesel technicians to prioritize work and ensure timely completion of repairs.
• Review technician findings and prepare accurate repair estimates.
• Recommend preventative maintenance services and necessary repairs in a professional and ethical manner.
• Research warranty coverage, recalls, service bulletins, and manufacturer repair information.
• Ensure all labor operations, parts, and customer concerns are properly documented on repair orders.
• Monitor work in progress and proactively communicate delays or additional repair needs.
• Assist in maintaining departmental productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction goals.
• Build long-term relationships with customers by delivering outstanding service and follow-through.
• Maintain compliance with dealership, manufacturer, and safety standards.
