Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience in government or nonprofit accounting preferred.
• Experience in grants management, financial accounting, and accounts payable processing is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with client service focus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and to travel 10–15%.

Responsibilities

• Performs accounting and consulting services for Tribal governments, including monthly closing and financial reporting.
• Manages grants, grant reporting, and related processes for clients.
• Develops and reviews accounting policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with clients to improve business practices and update policies.
• Leads project startup activities and ensures schedules and kickoff meetings.
• Coordinates with clients during audits and supports audit readiness.
• Contributes to practice growth and reviews team work for accuracy.
• Travel to client locations, trainings, or conferences as needed.
