Job summary

Baker Tilly is expanding its Tribal government consulting team and seeks a Manager to deliver accounting services and grant management for tribal clients. You will provide high-value deliverables, drive process improvements, and work with clients to support audits and compliance.

The role emphasizes collaboration across the Business Consulting Services team, travel to client sites if needed, and building trusted relationships while maintaining timely, accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience, not-for-profit and/or governmental experience preferred.
• Experience with grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, and government accounting standards implementation is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a commitment to excellent client service via multiple channels.
• Ability to analyze problems, think critically and propose creative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Performs operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, including monthly close, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reporting to key decision makers.
• Prepares polished deliverables for clients and ensures timely submission.
• Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters.
• Collaborates with clients to understand processes, identify improvements, and help define updated policies and procedures.
• Leads project startup activities and coordinates with clients during audits.
