Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Manager to lead Tribal government accounting and grant management engagements. You will deliver ongoing accounting services and support grant reporting, working with clients to improve processes and ensure compliance.

The role requires collaboration across teams, strong communication, and the ability to travel up to 10–15% as needed. This position is remote-friendly in the United States and aligns with Baker Tilly's consulting practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience, not-for-profit and/or governmental experience.
• Experience in grants management and financial accounting, including account reconciliation and government standards implementation.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting, consulting, and operational services for Tribal governments, including monthly close, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reporting to key decision makers.
• Prepare polished client deliverables and ensure timely submission.
• Develop policies and procedures on key accounting matters.
• Collaborate with clients to understand practices, identify improvements, and draft updated policies.
• Lead project startup activities, follow plans, adhere to schedules, and attend kickoff meetings.
• Coordinate with clients during audits and help with audit preparation.
• Support practice growth and contribute to team success.
• Review own work and team output for accuracy.
• Be an integral member of the Business Consulting Services team.
• Occasionally travel to client sites, trainings, or industry conferences.
