Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Trimmer/Climber Foreperson to oversee daily crew operations, plan work, and ensure safety compliance in field projects. You will coordinate with a General Foreperson and drive efficiency while mentoring crew members.

The role requires strong leadership, organization, and the ability to solve on-site issues, with a focus on safety and customer communications in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Understanding drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Possess organization skills and be able to multi-task.
• Capable of adjusting to field requirements and take independent action without close supervision.
• Able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
• Weight limit requirement of approximately 300 pounds for safety.
• No fear of heights.
• Willing to pay union dues.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and assigns daily work for the crew after receiving orders from a General Foreperson/Supervisor.
• Conducts field training and retraining, instructing crew on new or revised job units.
• Enforces safe work practices per policy and OSHA standards, and conducts safety training.
• Discusses access, power issues, and work scope with property owners/customers; refers complex cases to the General Foreperson.
• Obtains oral or written permission from property owners to perform required work.
• Promotes good customer relations through effective completion of tasks and professional crew conduct.
• Investigates incident reports or minor damage and settles simple claims under supervision.
• Maintains crew records, timesheets, and reports; tracks crew costs and productivity.
• Provides reports on incidents, truck breakdowns, and new employee follow-up.
• Coordinates with customers, police, and fire departments for street/driveway closures when needed.
• Sets up barriers and signs to protect employees and the public from hazards.
