Job summary

XKIG is seeking a skilled Climber to join our vegetation management team. The climber will prune, remove trees, and operate under safety protocols on utility sites.

Responsibilities include climbing with ropes and saddles, loading debris, and performing storm-work duties while maintaining tools and equipment. A background in utility vegetation management and first aid/CPR is preferred, with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate working knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming and removal.

Responsibilities

• Climb, prune, and remove trees according to Foreperson instructions.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Work from the ground using hand saws, pole saws, pruners, and gas-powered chain saws.
• Inspect and ensure proper working condition of all tools and equipment.
• Enforce safe job practices and maintain a clean work area.
