Job summary

XKIG is seeking a Climber to join our vegetation management team. The role involves climbing, pruning, and removing trees while following Foreperson’s directives; load and unload debris, operate hand tools, and ensure safe work practices and equipment readiness.

Ideal candidates have tree-care experience, knot/rigging knowledge, emergency rescue and first-aid abilities, and comfort working at heights in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging for tree trimming and removal.
• Able to climb and descend trees using rope and a safety saddle.
• Must be able to administer emergency rescue techniques and first aid.
• Familiar with electrical hazards and safe procedures near conductors.
• Capable of working at heights in varying weather.
• Must maintain PPE and pass background/drug screen.
• Travel for storm restoration work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Climb, prune, and remove trees per Foreperson’s directives.
• Load logs and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Work from ground using various hand tools.
• Inspect tools and equipment condition.
• Ensure safety of coworkers and public; enforce safe practices.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
• Follow safety rules and procedures.
