Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Climber to perform climbing, pruning, and removal of trees in our utility vegetation program. The role emphasizes safe practices, equipment inspection, and proximity to electrical hazards, with storm work as needed.

Responsibilities include loading trucks with logs, operating hand tools and gas-powered saws, and maintaining clear communication with crew. A high school diploma and prior climbing experience are preferred; background checks apply.

Qualifications

• Must understand knots, ropes, and rigging used in tree trimming and removal.
• Able to climb and descend trees using rope and safety saddle.
• Knowledge of emergency rescue techniques and first aid.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe practices and enforce rules.
• Climb, prune, and remove trees per Foreperson's directives.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Work from the ground using hand saws, pole saws, pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gas-powered chain saws.
• Inspect and ensure proper working condition of tools and equipment.
• Safeguard crew and public from hazards by keeping area clean and communicating with co-workers.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
