Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a Tree Climber to perform climbing, pruning, and removal of trees in our service area. You will follow safety rules, work with a Foreperson, load the truck with debris, and operate hand and gas tools to complete storm restoration assignments.

Candidates should have experience in vegetation management or related fields, be able to work at height, and maintain first-aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate working knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming and removal operations.
• Must be able to climb and descend trees using rope and safety saddle.
• Must be able to administer and implement emergency rescue techniques, including tree rescue and first aid.

Responsibilities

• Always follow and enforce safe practices and rules.
• Climb, prune, and remove trees according to Foreperson's directives.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; lift and feed brush into brush chipper.
• Work from ground using hand saws and gas-powered chain saws.
• Inspect and ensure proper working condition of all tools and equipment.
• Safeguard employees and public from hazards in and around the work area.
