Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking a dedicated climber to join our vegetation management team. The role involves climbing, pruning, and removing trees in coordination with a Foreperson, while maintaining strict safety standards and efficient operation in varying conditions.

The position includes loading/unloading materials, using a range of hand and gas-powered tools, and performing storm restoration duties as needed. A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate working knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming and removal operations.
• Able to climb/descend trees using rope and safety saddle.
• Able to administer emergency rescue techniques including tree rescue and basic first aid.

Responsibilities

• Climb, prune, and remove trees according to Foreperson's directives.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Work from ground using hand saws, pole saws, pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gas-powered chain saws.
• Inspect and ensure tools/equipment are in safe working condition.
• Safeguard employees and public by enforcing safe practices and maintaining a clean work area.
• Perform storm restoration duties as needed.
