Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking an Aerial Lift Trimmer to trim, prune, and remove trees using bucket trucks or similar equipment. The role emphasizes safety, tool/crew coordination, and proactive debris management.

Requirements include knowledge of knots/rigging, tree species identification, and the ability to work at height with PPE. Travel for storm restoration work may be required, and a background check plus drug screen are part of the hiring process.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate knot, rope, and rigging knowledge used in trimming/removal operations.
• Must be able to identify tree species.
• Must be familiar with electrical hazards and procedures near conductors.
• Must operate at heights under varying weather conditions.
• Must have physical strength, balance, depth perception, and hearing instructions.
• Must obtain/maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must implement emergency rescue techniques.
• Must wear PPE and be willing to travel for storm restoration work.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and enforce safe practices.
• Prepare truck and materials daily as directed by Foreperson.
• Perform professional tree maintenance as directed.
• Clear and trim trees/brush from utility lines; remove branches.
• Clean up and dispose of debris.
• Maintain and track tools and equipment.
• Develop climbing/tree maintenance skills and knowledge.
• Assist crew members in daily activities.
