The Climber role at XKIG involves climbing, pruning, and removing trees while adhering to strict safety rules. You will load and unload logs, operate hand and gas-powered tools, and support storm restoration efforts as needed.

Candidates should have experience with knots, rigging, emergency rescue techniques, first aid/CPR, and the ability to work at height in varying conditions. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred and willingness to travel for storm work is required.

Qualifikationen

• Must demonstrate a working knowledge of knots, ropes, and rigging devices used in tree trimming and removal operations.
• Must be able to climb and descend trees using rope and safety saddle.
• Must be able to administer and implement emergency rescue techniques, including tree rescue and all applicable first aid techniques.
• Must be familiar with electrical hazards and appropriate operating procedures near conductors and aerial rescue.
• Must work at considerable heights in varying and adverse weather conditions.
• Must possess physical strength, balance, depth perception and hearing.
• Must obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must wear necessary PPE and travel for storm restoration work when needed.

Aufgaben

• Climb, prune, and remove trees according to Foreperson’s directives
• Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into brush chipper
• Work from the ground using hand saws, pole saws, loppers, and gas-powered chain saws
• Inspect and ensure proper working condition of all assigned tools and equipment
• Safeguard employees and public from hazards by enforcing safe practices, keeping area clean, and maintaining voice communication with co-workers
• Perform duties for storm work as needed
