Job summary

The Climber role at Xylem Tree Experts and Kendall Vegetation Services involves climbing, pruning, and removing trees with a focus on safety and efficiency. You will follow Foreperson directions, load equipment, and use a variety of hand tools and chainsaws to maintain and restore vegetation.

Applicants should have at least one year of climbing experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and be prepared for storm-related work and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience as a climber in line clearance preferred.
• Valid driver’s license preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Climb, prune, and remove trees per Foreperson’s directives.
• Load/unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Work from the ground using hand saws, pole saws, pruners, loppers, and gas-powered chain saws.
• Inspect tools and equipment for proper condition and safety.
• Enforce safe practices and protect workers and public from hazards.
• Perform storm restoration duties as needed.
