Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a seasoned Superintendent to plan, manage and execute complex projects on site in Lake Charles, LA. You will lead safety initiatives, coordinate subcontractors, manage budgets, and drive schedule adherence while ensuring quality and OSHA compliance.

The role requires effective leadership, strong communication, and the ability to travel to assigned projects as needed. A background in construction management and Lean practices is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in construction management principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety culture and ensure injury-free environment.
• Manage subcontractors and overall workflow of the project.
• Oversee staff, subcontractors, suppliers and programs (Safety, Quality, EEO).
• Develop work plans for subcontractors and self‑performed work.
• Coordinate care and control of project site.
• Lead daily stand‑up and weekly trade meetings.
• Participate in project reviews and key meetings.
• Create and manage project schedule with Project Manager.
• Track project budget and costs using cost reports.
• Communicate project information to owners, design team and authorities.
• Ensure quality through specifications, QA/QC and external resources.
• Support project closeouts and pre‑punch activities.
• Assist in project pursuit and pre‑planning activities.
• Identify and recruit top talent.
• Promote diversity and inclusion.
