Job summary

Catapult Federal Services seeks Traveling Journeyman Construction Technicians to support utility/EPC substation projects across the United States. You will construct, install, and maintain high-voltage substations, collaborating with superintendents and craft personnel to keep projects on schedule.

The role requires safety focus, willingness to travel 100% to project locations, and experience with 12kV–500kV systems. Ongoing contracts offer long-term travel assignments.

Qualifications

• Journeyman-level experience in electrical, utility, or substation construction.
• Minimum of 3 years of substation construction experience preferred.
• Experience reading electrical/construction drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and maintain substation equipment (breakers, disconnects, transformers, bus, cables).
• Install grounding, conduit, cable tray, ducts, and control wiring.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and schematics to execute work per specs.
• Perform equipment setting, alignment, and mechanical assembly.
• Support testing, commissioning, and closeout activities.
