Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. seeks a Substation Technician C to perform construction, maintenance and repair of substation equipment, with 2-4 years of HV experience.

Work involves confined spaces, elevated work, and travel to various sites, including potential travel to another state. You will operate and troubleshoot buswork, transformers, cabinets and switchgear, maintain tools and vehicles, and comply with safety rules.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform rigorous physical labor.
• Capable of climbing and working at heights up to 125 feet.
• Must possess or be capable of obtaining a Commercial Driver's License.
• Must supply own personal hand tools and safety boots.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain and repair substation equipment and systems.
• Perform testing, adjusting and troubleshooting of high- and low-voltage gear.
• Operate equipment including bucket, derrick/boom trucks, backhoes, excavators and lifts.
• Maintain company vehicles and test equipment in good condition.
• Work in confined spaces and follow safety rules; travel to various sites as required.
