Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC in the United States is seeking a Substation Technician -B to support construction, maintenance and repair of substation equipment up to 525 kV. This non-exempt role may require travel to different states and extensive field work in confined spaces and elevated areas.

The technician will perform testing, troubleshooting and installation tasks, follow safety rules, and be capable of coaching crew members.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Commercial Drivers’ License.
• Capable of lifting in excess of 50 lbs and performing physical labor.
• Willing to travel up to 90% and possibly to other states.
• Experience with high voltage substations (525 kV and below).
• Ability to coach crew members on the job.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction, maintenance or repair of substation equipment/systems.
• Test, adjust and troubleshoot high voltage systems.
• Maintain company vehicles, test equipment and tools.
• Work in confined spaces and at heights up to 125 feet.
• Coordinate with customers and subordinates; communicate findings clearly.
• Follow company safety rules and policies on all tasks.
