Job summary

Self Publishing, Inc. is seeking a Sales Development Representative who will be the first touchpoint for aspiring authors. You will learn each prospect's story, understand goals, and set up consults with Publishing Strategists to guide them forward.

You will also travel to 2–4 live events per month, represent the brand, and engage audiences on stage. A high-energy, high-impact role with uncapped earning potential awaits the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Proven sales experience with a track record of results.
• Comfortable speaking to large audiences and at live events.
• Experience using CRM systems and structured sales processes.

Responsibilities

• Make outbound calls to warm, qualified leads (no cold calls).
• Have real conversations to uncover goals and challenges.
• Schedule high-quality strategy calls with the Publishing team.
• Represent selfpublishing.com at live events (2–4 per month).
• Speak confidently on stage and share our mission and services.
• Collaborate with a fast-moving team and help build a scalable sales org.

• Call warm leads who opted in to our free trainings, challenges and books (no cold calling lists of strangers)
• Have real conversations: what they want to write, why it matters, and what has been stopping them
• Book qualified strategy calls for our Publishing Strategists
• Track every call in our CRM and get sharper every week with daily coaching and call reviews
• Earn a spot at live events, where our top SDRs book appointments in person
• Week 1: learn the playbook and get your reps in on the phone
• Week 2: you're live on inbound leads, with daily Q&A and 3 to 5 call reviews a week

📈 Requirements

• 1+ year in a sales role with a number attached to it (quota, leaderboard, commission)
• Live in the Austin area, or move here before your start date
• Work in person, full time, at our Westlake office
• Comfortable on the phone all day and great with people

💰 What You'll Earn

• On target earnings, year 1: $80,000 to $140,000 (uncapped commission)
• Top SDRs earn $110,000 to $140,000+ a year
• Path to Account Executive, where our reps earn $150,000 to $400,000+
