Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) professional to lead safety on a high-profile data center project in Austin, TX, with travel to related markets. This salaried exempt role supports our Critical Facilities division across data centers, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing segments.

You will enforce site EH&S programs, train teams on safe work practices, review subcontractor safety plans, and drive actions to reduce incidents while ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field and minimum of 4 years of related construction safety experience
• Construction Health Safety Technician (CHST) certification required or within 2 years of appointment
• Completed OSHA 30-hour training and maintain current First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED certifications
• Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and local Environmental Health & Safety regulations
• Working knowledge and consistent application of safety and environmental principles and techniques
• Travel required, access to reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

• Lead EH&S on a single construction project per HQ policy
• Manage time/resources and provide safety leadership to the project
• Assess safety practices and exposures, develop action plans to mitigate risks
• Communicate requirements for improving performance to project leadership and teams
• Understand site safety trends and work to reduce incident rates
• Develop and deliver site-specific EH&S training for personnel and subcontractors
• Promote safe work practices per regulations and owner requirements
• Review subcontractor safety programs and Pre-Task Plans (PTPs) for compliance
• Conduct safety audits and issue reports for violations and corrective actions
• Hold preconstruction safety meetings and establish risk mitigation plans
• Develop accountability models for pre-planning and subcontractors' safety
• Collaborate with leadership to create safety reports and metrics
• Ensure timely log of subcontractors' toolbox talks
• Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned
