Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Traveling Project Manager 1 - Justice to lead complex courthouse and corrections projects across the United States. You will guide the project from preconstruction through closeout, partnering with clients, design teams, and subcontractors to deliver safe, efficient, and high‑quality facilities.

The role emphasizes leadership, schedule control, cost management, and risk assessment, with travel to multiple sites and periods of relocation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
• 5+ years construction management experience.
• Experience on large or complex Justice/Corrections projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety culture and mentor staff to ensure an injury-free environment.
• Oversee prestart and preconstruction activities including trade coordination and scope development.
• Manage buyout scheduling, pricing, subcontractor scope and bid packages.
• Coordinate submittal scheduling, reviews, and communication with architects/engineers.
• Lead progress and owner meetings; prepare and review change requests.
• Develop and maintain project schedule with the Superintendent; manage resources and lean processes.
• Provide regular status reports, budget, and margin forecasting; monitor costs vs. budget.
• Support project closeout, warranties, and contract closeout documentation.
• Coordinate with stakeholders including owner, design team, subcontractors, and vendors.
