Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a field-based maintenance technician to install, troubleshoot, and service industrial equipment across multiple company locations. The role emphasizes safe operations, reading blueprints, and performing welding (MIG/TIG/ARC) as needed.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 months of equipment repair experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license. Willingness to travel and follow safety policies is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Equipment maintenance knowledge – minimum of 6 months’ work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics preferred.
• Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English required.
• Lockout/Tagout experience preferred.
• Prior welding experience including MIG, TIG, ARC, cutting, and brazing.

Responsibilities

• Installs and troubleshoots industrial equipment, systems, and components following blueprints and engineering specs.
• Performs maintenance tasks in compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Uses hand and power tools, precision instruments, and testing devices.
• Maintains safe operation of machinery and reads blueprints/schematics.
• Travels to multiple UniFirst locations to perform maintenance duties.
• Performs welding activities including MIG/TIG/ARC, cutting, and brazing.
