Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant – Float to support physicians and nursing staff across NM sites. The role includes patient rooming, vital signs, venipuncture, ECGs, immunizations and exam room setup in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

The position requires a High school diploma or GED and CMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA/NCMA certification within six months, with zero to two years of relevant experience and BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification in CMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA/NCMA within first six months of employment.
• Zero to two years’ experience in a relevant role.
• American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification required.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Support physicians, nurses and clinic staff to maintain efficient patient flow.
• Escort patients, obtain accurate vital signs, document allergies and visit reason.
• Assist with ECGs, venipuncture, immunizations, and setup of procedure trays.
• Prepare exam rooms, stock supplies and ensure infection control standards.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and provide professional, courteous interaction with patients.
