Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Certified Medical Assistant Float for the North Region. This full-time role is based on the Lake Forest hospital campus and requires travel to multiple NM sites to support labs, EKGs, vitals, and patient flow.

Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, documenting vitals and patient information, and assisting physicians. A high school diploma or GED and CMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA/NRCMA certification (or eligibility) are required, with BLS/CPR certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current certification in CMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA/NRCMA or eligibility is required within six months.
• BS/MA program completion is preferred in some sites.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate efficient patient flow and assist physicians and nurses.
• Perform lab draws, ECGs, venipuncture, and administer routine procedures as directed.
• Prepare exam rooms, stock supplies, and maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Document patient data, vitals, allergies, and visit reasons.
• Travel to multiple NM sites as needed to support staffing needs.
