Job summary

Cognisol Global Solutions LLC is seeking a Traveling IT Field Engineer to support 4 regional labs and 10 regional offices across Virginia. The role requires statewide travel, with state vehicles provided and expenses reimbursed. In-person IVS sessions are mandatory, with a potential transition to an FTE after one year.

Responsibilities include PC and network support, and coordination with VITA. A valid driver's license and ability to travel are required; the position is hybrid with potential

Qualifications

• Advanced computer skills for PC hardware, peripherals and networking.
• Network administration concepts (DHCP, DNS, routers, firewall).
• Troubleshooting software/hardware issues.
• Excellent customer relations and communication.
• Strong verbal and written communication ability.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• MS Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiency.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Support 4 regional labs and 10 regional offices.
• Provide PC, software installations, printers, peripherals, and networking support.
• Coordinate changes with VITA and management as needed.
• Use IT Service Management ticketing system for work prioritization.
• Offer end-user training and friendly, helpful support.
• Assist modernization of lab equipment to integrate with CoreOne LIMS.
• Travel 3–4 times weekly with overnight stays per policy.
• Maintain state vehicle and follow fleet procedures.
• Potential transition to full-time role in July 2026.
