Job summary

WC Smith in Washington, DC is seeking a Field Support Engineer to provide hands-on desktop support across corporate offices and multiple DMV-area locations. The role involves troubleshooting hardware/software, supporting Microsoft 365 apps, and ensuring end-user technology is ready for daily operations.

This position requires travel about 50% of the time between company sites, a valid driver’s license, and strong customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional IT support experience.
• Strong hands-on desktop support and troubleshooting experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and end-user applications.
• Ability to travel approximately 50% between DMV locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote desktop support to employees across multiple locations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, laptop, hardware, software, connectivity, and peripheral issues.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications and related technology for end users.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, monitors, printers, and other end-user equipment.
• Diagnose issues and escalate when necessary, with clear user communication.
• Assist with new employee technology setup and equipment deployment.
• Travel regularly between company locations to provide hands-on support.
• Maintain documentation of issues, resolutions, and equipment.
• Collaborate with IT team on deployments, upgrades, and projects.
