Job summary

BeyondSOF is seeking a Traveling IT Field Engineer to support 4 regional labs and 10 regional offices across Virginia. The role requires in-person presence, statewide travel, and a state vehicle with expenses reimbursed.

You will install software, configure peripherals, and handle basic networking while working within Virginia’s travel policies. Responsibilities include end-user support, coordination with ITSM ticketing, and assisting with lab modernization to integrate with CoreOne LIMS.

Qualifications

• Advanced computer skills focused on PC peripherals and network support.
• Experience with DHCP/DNS, routers, firewalls concepts.
• Experience troubleshooting software/hardware problems.
• Strong customer relations and a friendly, helpful demeanor.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Solid knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Support 4 regional labs and 10 regional offices.
• Provide PC, software installations, printers, peripherals, and networking support.
• Assist with modernization of lab equipment to integrate with CoreOne LIMS.
• Travel 3-4 times a week with overnight stays as needed.
• Work a 40-hour week with potential flex scheduling; overtime requires approval.
