Job summary

NexGen is seeking two interns for Summer 2027 in the Steel Department, with locations TBD. The role supports project lifecycle tasks—from safety to estimates—working closely with Project Management and Field Operations to gain hands-on experience in industrial construction.

You will assist with scheduling, procurement, cost tracking, and field reporting, while developing technical skills in a fast-paced setting and traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Comfortable in office and job-site environments.
• Willingness to travel if required.
• Ability to collaborate in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support safety management, estimating, scheduling, procurement, and project coordination.
• Gain hands-on experience in industrial construction, maintenance, and operations.
• Assist with project lifecycle activities under supervision, including documentation and reporting.
• Learn change order processes and assist in preparing field reports and estimates.
• Coordinate with general contractors and owners under supervision.
