Job summary

NexGen Contracting, the self-perform arm of Gray, is seeking two interns for Summer 2027 in its Special Projects Division. Locations are TBD, offering hands-on experience in industrial construction across safety, estimating, scheduling, procurement, and project coordination.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong organizational skills with effective communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Comfortable working in both office and job site environments.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Observe and assist with project safety efforts, including helping with safety documentation and safety meetings.
• Support review and organization of job cost information and assist in distributing project estimates.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs and help prepare project estimates, budgets, and proposals.
• Contribute to project scheduling by updating timelines and sequencing processes.
• Help monitor project progress with data gathering and production tracking.
• Assist with cost tracking and administrative tasks, such as compiling reports.
• Support procurement by tracking materials and equipment orders.
• Learn change order processes and logging/organizing change requests.
• Coordinate communication with general contractors and owners under supervision.
• Prepare field reports tracking labor hours, productivity, material usage and safety observations.
• Follow company policies and industry standards to support compliance and quality.
• Must have reliable transportation.
