Job summary

NexGen Contracting, the self-perform arm of Gray Construction, is seeking two interns for its Special Projects Department for Summer 2027. Locations are TBD.

Interns will gain hands-on experience across concrete, steel, MEP, safety and project coordination while supporting management and field operations. Candidates pursuing a Bachelor's in Construction Management or Engineering with strong organization, MS Office skills, and a willingness to travel will excel.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong organizational skills and effective communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Willingness to travel and work in office and on-site environments.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Support safety management and safety documentation.
• Assist in estimating, scheduling, procurement and project coordination.
• Help with change orders and maintain project records.
• Coordinate communication with general contractors and owners under supervision.
• Prepare field reports tracking labor hours, productivity, material usage, and safety observations.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
