Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a seasoned Superintendent to lead field operations on national projects, with full-time travel to site locations. You’ll supervise direct labor, coordinate procurement, and partner with the Project Manager to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field and 5+ years of ground-up commercial experience, including blueprints, codes, safety, and effective communication with subs, clients, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects.
• Ability to travel to project sites nationwide.
• Reads blueprints and understands codes and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan procedures, staffing, and equipment for each construction phase.
• Develop and use look-ahead schedules with Project Manager.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings and mobilization.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet schedules.
• Maintain safety, quality standards, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with subs, clients, and craft resources to minimize delays.
• Monitor progress and adjust schedules and labor costs.
