Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Superintendent to oversee daily on-site operations, including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials and equipment. The role supervises direct labor, coordinates with Project Manager, and manages any contracted work to ensure timely project completion.

The position requires full-time travel to project sites nationwide; the location shown is not the project site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of ground-up commercial project experience, especially light industrial/cold storage.
• Knowledge of construction processes.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.
• Reads blueprints accurately and understands subcontractors' scopes of work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; basic Spanish preferred.
• Good administrative skills and ability to monitor progress and coordinate multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Plan procedures based on specifications, staffing, tools, equipment, and timelines.
• Work with Project Manager to determine schedules and use look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings and mobilization.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules.
• Ensure all parties are informed of progress and construction issues.
• Resolve issues with supervisors, engineers, and inspectors to improve methods.
• Inspect ongoing work for conformance to plans and schedules.
• Assist in preparing the Project Management Plan.
