Job summary

Ballard Power Systems Inc. is seeking Field Service Technicians to support customers across the Northeastern United States. You will repair, refurbish, test, and maintain fuel cell modules and components in the field, combining hands‑on work with documentation and customer training.

Travel is frequent and may include short‑notice schedules and overnight stays. You will diagnose issues, perform tests, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure safe, high‑quality operation and

Qualifications

Technical diploma or trade certification, or equivalent education in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Instrumentation, Automotive Technology, or related field.
2+ years of field service, equipment maintenance, repair, manufacturing, or another hands‑on technical service environment.
Experience with fuel cells, hydrogen systems, industrial equipment, power systems, or electro‑mechanical products is a plus.

Responsibilities

Repair, refurbishment, and reconditioning of fuel cell modules and components in the field.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and system‑level issues; perform tests and identify root causes.
Travel frequently to customer sites to perform maintenance, repairs, commissioning support, and troubleshooting, including short notices.
Train customers and service partners on repair procedures, testing methods, and maintenance best practices.
Maintain accurate service documentation, logs, inspection reports, and feedback on product performance.
