Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) in San Diego, CA is seeking a Field Service Engineer 1 to provide remote and on-site technical support for automated dispensing systems, including DHA/DoD facilities. You will diagnose hardware and software, perform installations, preventive maintenance and calibrations, and manage service documentation.

The role requires 1–3 years of hardware/software/IT support, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

1–3 years of combined hardware, software, and IT support experience.
Eligibility for access to Federal Government Facilities including DoD, VA Hospitals, Indian Health Services facilities.
Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, customer service, and documentation abilities.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and travel as required.

Responsibilities

Provide remote and on-site technical support for automated dispensing systems.
Respond to, evaluate, prioritize, and resolve work orders within service-level expectations.
Diagnose and repair proprietary hardware and software components.
Independently troubleshoot complex issues and escalate when needed.
Perform preventive maintenance, installations, repairs, calibrations, and general technical support.
Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts and proper company asset handling.
Ensure all service documentation meets regulatory and corporate requirements.
