Job summary

BD in USA CA - San Diego is seeking a Field Service Engineer I to provide remote and on-site support for BD automated dispensing systems, including DoD and DHA facilities. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hardware and software, while ensuring regulatory compliance and strong customer relationships.

The role includes preventive maintenance, installations, calibrations, parts inventory, and on-call support with a 2nd shift (3 PM– midnight or 4 PM–1 AM).

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field or 3+ years of Field Service/Technical Support experience.
• 24×7 on-call service experience preferred.
• Medical or electromechanical device repair experience required.
• CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
• Daily car travel required, with occasional air travel and overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote and on-site technical support for automated dispensing systems.
• Respond to, evaluate, prioritize, and resolve work orders within service-level expectations.
• Diagnose and repair proprietary hardware and software components.
• Perform preventive maintenance, installations, repairs, and calibrations.
• Document service activities, expenses, and time logs accurately using approved tools.
• Partner with Sales and Implementation teams to support deployments and customer experience.
