Job summary

Bon Appetit is seeking an Executive Chef, Traveling Support to lead culinary operations across a portfolio of accounts. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong food safety practices, and the ability to travel extensively to support new openings and operational transitions.

The traveling executive chef will collaborate with culinary and operations teams to elevate food quality, ensure compliance, and mentor staff while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience leading culinary operations in high-volume environments.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP.
• Willingness to travel extensively (about 85%).
• Ability to manage food cost, inventory, purchasing and labor considerations.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Experience supporting new account openings, renovations, or culinary program launches.
• Background in corporate dining, hospitality, higher education, or contract foodservice.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive chef leadership across multiple accounts during transitions or openings.
• Improve food quality, consistency, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
• Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and dining experiences.
• Ensure food safety and regulatory compliance.
• Support kitchen readiness, menu implementation, and team training for new accounts.
• Mentor chefs and culinary teams through coaching and hands-on leadership.
• Contribute to culinary standards, SOPs, and training resources.
• Build strong relationships with clients and operations teams.
• Travel extensively to support locations across the region.
