Job summary

Bon Appetit is seeking an Executive Chef, Traveling Support to lead culinary operations across multiple accounts. This hands-on role reports to the Regional VP and requires strong leadership, strategic menu development, and the ability to drive food quality in diverse settings.

The traveling executive chef will partner with operations teams, ensure food safety and operational standards, mentor staff, and manage costs while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience leading culinary operations in high-volume settings.
• Executive Chef or senior culinary leadership background.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and sanitation.
• Willingness to travel ~85% of the time.
• Residence within reasonable commuting distance of a major airport.
• Background in contract dining or hospitality preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive chef leadership across multiple accounts during leadership transitions or openings.
• Assess kitchen operations and drive improvements in quality, consistency, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
• Maintain high culinary standards for food quality and presentation.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, HACCP, allergen management and regulatory compliance.
• Support new account openings, including kitchen readiness and launch execution.
• Partner with culinary and operations leaders to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support food cost management, inventory controls, and waste reduction initiatives.
• Mentor and develop chefs, managers, and culinary teams through coaching and training.
• Contribute to culinary standards, recipes, SOPs, and training resources.
• Build strong relationships with clients and teams to foster collaboration.
• Travel extensively to support locations across the region.
