Job summary

Columbia State Community College seeks a Desktop Support Technician to provide on-site support for Windows-based desktops, laptops, printers, and software across multiple campuses. The role requires travel to Lawrenceburg, TN and other campuses, with duties including user account management, issue resolution, and collaboration with senior IT staff.

The successful candidate will have an Associate or Bachelor's degree and relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Fundamentals).

Qualifications

• Associates degree in related field, AND 2 years desktop support, helpdesk or related experience, AND relevant industry‑accepted certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Fundamentals
• Bachelor's degree AND relevant industry‑accepted certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Fundamentals

Responsibilities

• Provide desktop support for Windows-based systems, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
• Maintain Microsoft Office 365 applications, operating systems, and other business‑critical software.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining user accounts, permissions, and profiles in Active Directory.
• Diagnose and resolve support issues using a service desk system.
• Travel to multiple campus locations to resolve technical issues, set up hardware, and perform routine maintenance.
• Document issues, resolutions, and changes in ticketing or service desk systems.
• Work closely with senior IT staff to elevate complex issues and participate in system upgrades or migrations
