Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a traveling Superintendent to oversee daily operations across the United States. The role includes scheduling, procurement of materials, and supervision of direct labor on multiple sites.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the Project Manager, reviewing look-ahead schedules, and ensuring safety and quality on all phases of construction. Travel will be nationwide, requiring flexible availability and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up light industrial construction projects.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Understanding building codes and ability to read blueprints; Spanish basics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications to plan procedures for construction, staffing, and timeframes.
• Coordinate project schedule with Project Manager and develop look-ahead schedules.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules.
• Ensure all parties are informed of construction issues and progress; liaise with clients and subcontractors.
• Manage project staffing, costs, and crew assignments to control labor costs.
• Prepare and maintain Project Management Plan with Project Manager.
• Ensure safety and quality standards are followed.
