Job summary

Hawthorne Health, Inc. seeks dual-credentialed Cardiac and Vascular Sonographers for a per diem independent contractor role. You will travel regionally to patient homes to perform echocardiograms and vascular imaging using portable ultrasound equipment.

Visits are paid per visit with travel reimbursements for mileage, flights, car rental, and hotels where needed. Required: active RDCS/RCS and RVT/RVS credentials and ability to work autonomously in non-traditional settings.

Qualifications

• Active registration in both cardiac and vascular imaging (e.g., RDCS + RVT/RVS).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel locally/regionally.
• Access to a personal computer and reliable internet; tech-savvy with digital tools.
• Ability to work independently in non-traditional settings.
• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner.
• Adaptability in dynamic, field-based environments.
• Time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel locally or regionally to patient homes to conduct visits.
• Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment.
• Explain procedures and obtain informed cooperation from participants.
• Perform echocardiograms and vascular imaging studies per protocol.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during imaging.
• Follow sponsor and protocol-specific imaging guidelines.
• Ensure accurate image acquisition and labeling for review.
• Complete preliminary report with measurements and comments.
• Maintain high-quality standards per ASE guidelines.
• Troubleshoot imaging equipment as needed.
