Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an experienced Senior Special Systems Leader for a full-time traveling role across the United States, supporting aviation projects from the Denver base. The candidate should have 10+ years of progressive responsibility in Low Voltage and IT Infrastructure deployments, with strong leadership and project-management skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in construction design, cost, sequence, logistics and field installations of substantial Low Voltage systems and IT Infrastructure components
• Experience with installation of one or more major Special Systems and IT Infrastructure components
• Familiar with TIA/EIA and BICSI standards
• Knowledge of various project delivery methods (design-bid-build, design-build, construction manager at risk)
• Extensive system integration experience
• Supervisory experience and ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences
• Advanced project management skills and ability to manage high work volume in deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

• Manage Special Systems procurement, project budgets, quality, safety, engineering, coordination, scheduling, installation, commissioning, and close-out processes
• Lead Special Systems including Division 27 Telecommunication and 28 Electrical Safety
• Oversee security system scope for data centers, venues, aviation, federal, healthcare, and detention projects
• Prepare scope of work with division of responsibility for trades and specific Special Systems scopes
• Participate in GMP development and optimize design features for cost-effective functionality
• Review contract documents to mitigate risk across SD-30%, DD-60%, CD-100% documents, RFI, changes, submittals
• Negotiate construction changes leveraging contract knowledge
• Deliver integration and field engineering from inception through closeout
• Build and maintain relationships with Engineers, Consultants, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Inspectors and Owner reps
• Lead, supervise, and develop Turner Special Systems staff; coach on processes and implementation
• Collaborate with Business Development and potential clients for proposals and presentations
• Foster teamwork and continuous improvement within Special Systems group
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, feedback, and performance appraisals
• Other duties as assigned
